Grider Upholstery specializes in residential spaces and museum commissions, focusing on interior design, historic preservation, bespoke upholstery, made-to-measure drapery, custom bedding, and fine woodworking. Projects range from a single beloved piece to a complete interior conceived and executed from the ground up. The studio serves clients throughout the Tidewater region of Virginia, Southern Maryland, and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, and undertakes select projects further afield.

Every project, whatever its scale, is handled with the same seriousness of purpose. The work is done by hand. It is informed by a deep knowledge of materials, craft traditions, and the history of the spaces we inhabit. And it is shaped, above all, by a genuine interest in the client: who they are, how they live, and what kind of room will serve them best for years to come.
